Historic England is looking for a new Marketing Officer. In this role, you will be supporting the Public Engagement and Promotions Manager to carry out marketing and communications tasks for the high profile Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings restoration project, which is funded in large part by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
As the Marketing Officer, you will be supporting the management of day-to-day marketing, communications and media engagement activity focused on promoting the restoration and opening of Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings. This includes public engagement, stakeholder engagement, events and commercial/business engagement. Contributing to the creation of effective marketing plans and strategies for Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings, you will also support the creation of multi-platform content and engagement opportunities to build advocacy and showcase the work carried out in rescuing and protecting the site as the project progresses. You will support with events, including dealing with event organisers, partners and suppliers, promotion and assisting with the licencing and health and safety processes required when holding events on site.
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a similar marketing role, including the delivery of integrated, audience-led marketing and engagement across the marketing mix. With knowledge and experience of using social media for promotions and in web and email marketing, you will also have excellent spoken, written and presentation skills. With significant experience of effective copywriting and proof reading, you will also have knowledge of the application and benefits of current and emerging engagement and marketing channels. You are a strong and confident communicator, at all levels and through all forms of media and a collaborative worker.
