Bright Water Landscape Partnership, the Industrial Heritage Network North East member, are looking for a provider to come and work with them to deliver two village Atlas’s as part of the Discover Brightwater Landscape Partnership. The partnership is working along the river Skerne in South West Country Durham and Darlington.

The 2019 Science Museum Group Research Conference will take place 4-5 November 2019, at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester. There, on an internationally significant industrial heritage site, in the world’s first industrial city, we will emphasise the place of industry.

A triumph of Victorian innovation, a masterpiece of engineering and a cathedral of ironwork – the Crossness Pumping Station, opened by the Prince of Wales in 1865, hosted the inaugural meeting of the Industrial Heritage Network London (IHNL) last Friday. Historic England is looking for a new Marketing Officer. In this role, you will be supporting the Public Engagement and Promotions Manager to carry out marketing and communications tasks for the high profile Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings restoration project, which is funded in large part by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The machinery, the stock, even a pot of tea on the stove – when the Newman Brothers factory closed, almost everything in it was left as if at the end of an ordinary working day. Described as a sort of mercantile Marie Celeste, Coffin Works are the only surviving example of a purpose-built Victorian coffin furniture factory in the UK. All the coffin fittings including the handles, breastplates, ornaments, linings, cushions and the funerary gowns are still there, and visitors are free to touch and interact with many of them.
